Hockey (Women's) Women’s Ice-hockey is one of the most spectacular team sports played today, with its focus on excellence, speed and finesse. The sport is played throughout North America, Europe, Asia and other countries and requires a high level of technique, strength and balance. When at full strength, the two teams have six players each (two defenders, three forwards and a goaltender), with a total roster of up to 20 players plus staff. Substitutions are fast and regular. A hockey game is made up of three stop-time periods of a pre-determined length and may extend to sudden victory overtime and/or a shoot out if tied at the end of regulation time. In a competition, qualifying teams advance to playoffs and medal games. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
