Top Provincial Special Events: The Ontario Games in the province’s largest multi-sport competition. Funded largely by the Province of Ontario, this premier event takes place every two years. Municipalities compete aggressively for the opportunity to host.
Spectators: 7,500+ visitors are expected to visit Muskoka and Sdbury to see the Games. Family and friends of the athletes make up a large percentage of the spectators, however, the communities involved also have a strong presence particularly at events like the Opening Ceremonies.
Games: 3300+ registered participants, including athletes (aged 8-22), coaches and officials, 1100 registered volunteers and hundreds of local businesses and organizations.
Quality Venues: Muskoka boasts world class facilities including the newly opened Jack Bionda Centre , The Bracebridge Sport Complex, The Ben Avery Diving & Aquatic Center at Laurentian University, the Alpine center at Mount Saint Louis Moonstone, Muskoka Woods Sports Center, the Baysville Arena, and the new Gravenhurst Wharf .
